TEKNOPARK ISTANBUL is a science and technology park which was developed by the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) to contribute to Turkey’s technology development capacity for local and international entrepreneurs.

As Teknopark Istanbul, it is aimed to support the R&D activities, innovation and technological production through the provided services. The objective is to create an ecosystem by triggering entreprenurship and national economy.

The primary goal of Teknopark Istanbul is to create synergy and collective work among the companies that are operating in focus technologies such as defence, air and space, marine, biomedical and life sciences, energy storage and climatization, advanced electronics and optics, advanced materials and composites, and industrial automation.

Currently Teknopark Istanbul hosts 150 R&D firms and 2.500 R&D engineers in almost 150.000 sqm of land, and the numbers are expected to be doubled as the second phase of construction is finished by the end of 2017.
